How to Purchase Tickets and
Make a Train Reservation

1

Decide what day and time you would like to ride. Consider which station you would like to depart – Hill City or Keystone. Our Main Depot is located in Hill City. The train ride will take between 2 and 3 hours, depending on which departure you choose. The ride itself is one hour long, each way. The layover time varies between 15 minutes and 1 hour.

2

Click 'buy tickets' link then select the day you have decided to ride on the calendar. Next, select the departure station and time – more options are available by clicking on the arrow. You will also need to choose round-trip or one-way (if you choose one-way, you are responsible for your own transportation once you are at the other station). Enter the number of passengers according to age. Click on 'check for available seats.' If there are seats available, you may continue with your reservation. If there are no seats left, consider a different time or day to ride.

3

Fill in fields as appropriate. Your credit card will be used to hold the reservation, and will not be charged at this time. Check the box accepting the terms and conditions, being sure to read the terms and conditions first by clicking on the link. When you are finished, click on the 'reserve my tickets!' button.

4

You will receive an email confirmation with your reservation information. Please plan to pick-up and pay for your tickets on the day of your ride from your departure Train Station at the ticket booth, allowing 45 minutes until your departure time. Any tickets not picked up 15 minutes prior to departure are subject to cancellation and will assess a $10 per person cancellation fee. Please note that Special Events have a different cancellation policy. Reservations may be moved to a different date/time, pending availability, with no penalty fee, by calling our reservation office at 605-574-2222 prior to the reserved departure.

*** Advanced reservations are recommended. Walk-up tickets are sold based on availability. Seats are not assigned; we do not guarantee you will be seated with others in your party.***
