#1: When selecting your depart from/time, this is the station you will leave from. You will arrive at your first destination one hour after the time listed.

#2: When selecting your return from/time, the time listed is the time you leave that station. You will arrive at the final destination one hour after the time listed.

Please note the red colored circles designate the diesel engine in use and the black circles designate the steam engine in use. The Diesel engine is always used for our 7:30 am and 8:45 am departures and is also used when the steam engine undergoes routine maintenance.

Introducing Chug

We are excited to introduce our new bison mascot, Chug. He’s a railroad engineer who knows all about Trains and safety, and loves to share fun facts about the fascinating history of trains.

  • Chug is a bison.
  • Chug’s birthday is August 18 – we celebrate his birthday every year!
  • Chug is a train engineer.
  • Chug’s favorite sound is a train whistle.
  • Chug is really good at playing the matching game – you can play his favorite game here.
  • The “Chug”omotion is his favorite dance.
  • Chug loves all kinds of animals and you will get to see some of them on your train ride!
  • Chug normally eats plants but his favorite thing to eat is popcorn.
  • Chug loves history. Just like the 1880 Train has historical ties to this area, Chug and his bison friends have ties to this area as well. Learn more about the history of bison in this area.
